As part of my internship, I assisted another intern with ideating and creating an EOFY campaign for driving donations to the brand. As part of my role I directed and created a short promotional video for the campaign, which featured on digital channels.
This campaign had a tight turnaround time, meaning little time to work with the brand’s artists face-to-face as I would have liked. I decided that leveraging the CEO’s own popularity within the arts community to act as brand representative and hook for potential donors was the best move. I incorporated original music created by one of the brand’s artists, materials from the campaign, along with pre-existing footage of Encounter’s work.
I kept the video engaging with quick cuts, text and images and the tone light and uplifting via scripting language and music choice. The video hits on the brand’s mission, previous theatre, philanthropic work and ambitions for the future utilizing donations, finalizing in a call to action to donate through the campaign itself.

- Prepare and practice compressing or rescaling your ideas when working in a NFP setting with meagre funding.
- First-time actors sometimes work best when asked to rehearse away from set, saving time when the camera is rolling.
